Hanoi, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) Cuba added on Tuesday the charm of its music to the 6th Latin American Cinema Cycle in Vietnam with the movie El Benny, based on the life of Bartolome Maximiliano More Gutierrez, or simply El Barbaro del Ritmo.Multi-award winning since its premiere in 2006 -it was the island's option to the Oscars the following year- the film was favorably received by Hanoians, who paid attention to the plot, but at the same time moved the feet under the influence of certain catchy chords.

Also recognized was the work of the actor Renny Arozarena, at the time winner of the Boccalino prize at the Locarno Festival (Switzerland) among the leading roles. And that of the director Jorge Luis Sanchez, Benny's distant relative, but close to his music.

The exhibition was attended by Olga Lidia Tapia, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and head of its Department of Education, Sports and Science; the island's ambassador here, Lianys Torres, her fellow delegation and Cuban students and doctors who are serving in Vietnam.

Also, members of the diplomatic corps -especially of the countries that present films in this sort of Latin American mini-festival-, and Vietnamese young people, most of them Spanish students.

For the closing, on Saturday 13, Ogu and Mampato were reserved in Rapa Rui, considered the first modern animation film made in Chile.
