Caracas - The Vice Minister of the Integrated Criminal Investigation System, Humberto Ramirez, reported on Monday that as part of the National Anti-kidnapping Plan in Venezuela, this type of crime diminished by 41 percent compared to 2017.

Among the actions to maintain civic order and peace, Ramirez, who is also the Venezuelan general commissioner said that over the weekend more than 100 troops were deployed in the metropolitan area of this capital to carry out works of patrol and prevention.

Ramirez stressed that officials of the Division Against Extortion and Kidnapping of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigative Corps (CICPC); the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (CONAS); the Police of the state of Miranda and the municipalities that make up Greater Caracas participate in these actions.

On the other hand, the director of the National Disarmament Service, Pablo Fernandez, explained that in order to promote the preservation of life, citizen security, solidarity coexistence and the prevention of crime, so far this year, 485,000 firearms were disintegrated.
