Fulfill: Artemisa´s only choice

Artemisa, Cuba - A few days before the beginning at 30 November sugar mill in San Cristobal, workers are completing some details to produce about 45 490 tons of sugar, and more if possible, because "we must fulfill and overcomply with efficiency and contribute to the economy of the country" , exhorted José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, in tour in this entity.
New carts and trailers to pull cane with tractors, the cut with CASE combined machines at night, the increase of sugar cane transportation by rail, and other measures in the steam plant, where there was time lost in the previous season , are among the preparations to start, on November 25, 132 harvest days at 60 percent of the milling capacity in that iindustry.
Artemisa province faces the problem of planted cane, still insufficient for 150 days of harvest, said Machado Ventura. "They fulfill the plan, but there are idle lands to be cultivated, reserves in producing units, and fields with yields of 30 tons per hectare, to be demolished as soon as possible," Machado said.
Harlem sugar mill, in Bahia Honda, plans to grind in the first days of December, at 62 percent of its capacity and produce 14 833 tons of sugar , knew the vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers in the presence of Gladys Martinez , member of the Central Committee and First Secretary in the province, and other executives.
There is motivation and commitment in Artemisa´s workers to fulfill 13 338 tons in the small harvest, in late December, they also explained to Julio García, president of AZCUBA Sugar Group, who urged to reevaluate industrial capacities and not neglect the efficiency , because sugar production brings about necessary growth in the Cuban economy.
