The Domadores’ technical boss, Rolando Acebal, considers that just as happens among men; Cuba can turn into a power in female boxing, when it is decided to approve in an organized manner the practice of this discipline on the Island.

Acebal stated to Radio Rebelde, that the reduction of two divisions in the male sector for the Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020, it’s because they will be given to the women.

Besides, he highlighted that the unique country which has not incorporated the women to the fists sport is ours. “Cuban women have characterized themselves, along the history, for being brave, strong, determined. I think that the day they could compete, they will also obtain good results”.

The two divisions that will disappear for the appointment under the five rings will be the 49 and 60 kilos. For the technical group the most worrying thing is what to do with Lázaro Álvarez, world champion for three times.

Regarding the topic Acebal pointed out: “We cannot afford, put Lázaro and Andy Cruz together in the same division.
