Fidel Castro Is a Man to Be Celebrated, Angolan Psychologist Says

Luanda -The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, is a man to be celebrated, according to Antonio Pacavira, director of the ''Commander Fidel Castro'' Health Technical School in Luanda.

'We are here to celebrate a life. Fidel is a man who cannot be mourned; he is a man who must be celebrated,' said Pacavira, a psychology graduate from the University of Havana who runs the center, located in a poor neighborhood in Sapu district.

The Cubans were lucky to have a man who was born to save the world, he was a tireless humanist fighter, he was a prophet of the forgotten of humanity, he said.

Referring to the aid Cuba offered, he recalled that the Cubans were the first to support the Angolans to become independent and to defend the territorial integrity threatened by the military intervention of the apartheid regime in South Africa.

Pacavira's words followed the planting of a royal palm tree at the entrance of the school, where about 70 youths study specialties such as nursing, pharmacy and clinical analysis.

Cuban Ambassador to Angola Esther Armenteros said that they chose the institution to commemorate the two years of Fidel Castro's death as it bears his name and devotes to train health personnel.

Cuba sent thousands of doctors to African towns and now you are here, and you must play an important role in studying the life and work of Fidel, Armenteros told the students and professors who met with the embassy's staff, representatives of Cuban collaborators and the community of Cuban residents in Angola.

Fidel Castro passed away in Havana on November 25, 2016, at the age of 90.
