Venezuelan Public Prosecutors against Administrative Corruption

Caracas - The Public Prosecutor''s Office ( ''MP'') is working today to ensure that Venezuela is a country free of administrative corruption, drug trafficking and organized crime, according to Attorney General Tarek William Saab.
In an interview with the program Con Amorin, broadcasted by Venezolana de Television, the MP's maximum representative congratulated the ministerial cabinet for its hard work to ensure the proper functioning of judicial processes, as guarantors of compliance and respect for all legal rights and safeguards in force.
Saab pointed out that in the corruption ring led by former prosecutor Luisa Ortega Díaz, 'a mafia was led that even classed cases of pedophilia' and extorted and agreed in dollars to let mafias commit crimes in the national territory.
In this regard, he cited as an example that the U.S. justice system extradites pedophiles or others requested for common crimes, but those former officials who were 'sold' as affectionate to the Bolivarian Revolution to steal the nation's coffers are not submitted to the Venezuelan courts.
However, the official stressed that in this way the U.S. government recognizes the legitimacy of the current Public Prosecutor's Office and evades the legal requests contemplated in international agreements.
On the other hand, Saab said that the new administration will work to preserve full justice in the country and ensure the speed and smooth running of the administration.
He added that the Public Prosecutor's Office remains vigilant to ensure access to justice for all citizens.a
