Guadalajara, Mexico - Books by Cuban doctors on physiotherapy, rehabilitation and quality of life are the most requested ones on Tuesday at the Citmatel stand in the 32nd International Book Fair (FIL) in Guadalajara, Mexico.
According to Prensa Latina, the general director of the Information Technology Company and Advanced Telematic Services, Beatriz Alonso, attended the event with 399 titles from Citmatel Editions, covering more than a dozen subjects in different formats.
But the most attractive ones to the public are health books, drawn up by doctors, which shows the high esteem Cuba has in this area, Alonso stressed.
Commercial Director, Dania Molina, details some of the most sought books by those who visit stand II 24, of the International Pavilion.
'Fisioterapia y rehabilitación. Cuidemos nuestros tobillos' (Physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Take care of our ankles) and 'Cuidemos nuestras rodillas' (Take care of our knees), both by Dr. Miguel Rolando Gonzalez, are among the most highly valued ones.
Dr. Gonzalez signed two other manuals of great benefit: 'Sacrolumbalgia' and 'Hombro y cadera' (Shoulder and hip). A work on Alzheimer's disease also generated interest and one about Parkinson's disease, which is an issue to develop, are being requested.
We have also sold titles related to medical information for home, around the common afflictions, and others related to climate change and risk management, the commercial director said.
The Guadalajara FIL takes place from November 24 to December 2, in this western Mexican city, with the participation of more than 800 authors from 40 countries.
