Havana - The 19th Scientific Convention on Engineering and Architecture is wrapping up in Havana on Friday, after intense debates focused on the research and implementation of technological advances to achieve sustainable development.

Gathered at Havana's Conference Center since Monday, Cuban and foreign specialists from 39 countries faced with a broader perspective the commitments of the scientific world, specifically the university world with the society.

This debate was conducive to the establishment of forms of international cooperation among institutions, entities, organizations and universities, with the purpose of qualitatively raising the Higher Education level.

Issues such as the application of new technologies for geophysical geological prospecting, hydrogeology and well drilling, were addressed at keynote speeches and workshops.

As part of the academic program, geomatics and geophysics applied to engineering, as well as modeling and simulation in geosciences, were also discussed.

Moringa oleifera plant as a source of potential for multiple applications in Cuba, specifically related to cosmetics, focused the debates of the Cuban Congress of Natural Fibers, which took place during the scientific convention.

The 19th Scientific Convention on Engineering and Architecture was held within the framework of the activities for the 54th anniversary of the 'Jose Antonio Echeverria' Technological University of Havana.
