Diaz-Canel Extolls Anniversary of Latin American Cinema Foundation
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel highlighted on Tuesday the emergence of the New Latin American Cinema Foundation (FNCL) 33 years ago.
'On December 4, 1985, the Foundation of the New Latin American Cinema was born, an emancipation project for the cinematography of our region, promoted by Fidel (Castro) and El Gabo (Gabriel Garcia Marquez). Congratulations to our filmmakers. Yes it was possible, yes it is possible, yes it will be possible,' the president wrote on his Twitter account.
The FNCL is a non-profit cultural entity created with the purpose of contributing to the development and integration of Latin American cinema and achieving a common audiovisual universe, in addition to cooperating with the rescue and strengthening of the cultural identity of Latin America and the Caribbean

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
