Venezuela Signs Strategic Agreements with Russia

Caracas - Venezuela''s statesman Nicolas Maduro is presiding over on Thursday with his Russian peer Vladimir Putin the signing ceremony of relevant agreements on defense, oil and trade to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The head of State posted on Twitter that he would continue his visit to Russia on Thursday and the two countries were working to step up the Economic Recovery, Growth and Prosperity Program through the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy. 'After a successful meeting with President Vladimir Putin, we walk through Moscow's streets. We will continue our agenda for a multipolar vision of Venezuela after signing important agreements on defense, finances, oil and trade matters and more,' Maduro wrote.
During a meeting with Maduro, Putin condemned the intention by the U.S. government and the European Union and regional allies to change Venezuela's political situation with the strength and insistence of a military intervention.
Putin also stressed his support to the Venezuelan Executive after achieving mutual understanding in the society and congratulated the actions aimed at normalizing relations with the opposition through peaceful talks.
Maduro's visit to Moscow includes a series of meeting with world leaders, from the official trip to Mexico on occasion of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's inauguration to the recent visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Caracas, as well as the exchange in China the Venezuelan statesman led in September.
