La Paz - The opposition in Bolivia on Monday uses ''bullying'' and paid violent groups to impose the ideology and political interests of the rightist elites to undo the inclusive State built by President Evo Morales.

Government Minister Carlos Romero said this statement on Sunday during the Bolivia TV channel 'El Pueblo es Noticia' program, and rejected the use of elitist politics as a pretext to cover up the murder of a 56-year-old citizen in Riberalta, Beni department, for opposing the strike convened by government detractors on December 6.

These actions occurred after the little response to the strike convened by the opposition on the population side that supports the Morales administration and his re-election in the 2019 polls, Romero said.

Democracy consists of tolerating ideas and not forcing someone to comply with a political strike, while whoever resists 'could lose the life,' he stressed.

'They removed their disguise and present themselves for what they are: racists, violent, intolerant, undemocratic persons, enemies of state institutions, enemies of those who have indigenous or mixed race characteristics,' he stated.

At least 15 peasants were killed in that unfortunate event, which occurred when the right-wing opposition was organizing a coup d'état for the secession of Bolivia. 'Basically, there is a rejection of a State that has regained control of the economy and is working to benefit the majority, in conditions of equity, benefiting the Bolivians as a whole, but prioritizing the neediest majorities,' Romero said.
