Havana -The Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), Rodrigo Malmierca, highlighted Tuesday at the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, the work of Cuba to attract foreign investment based on the technological development.

In a panel on the subject, the official highlighted the strategies proposed in the Life Task, the Cuban state plan for confronting climate change, the director of foreign investment of MINCEX, Deborah Rivas disclosed through its Twitter account.

During the event, Malmierca highlighted the need to attract foreign investment also for the technological development of Cuba linked to the work of the universities and the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He also commented that Cuba promotes projects related to the recycling of garbage as one of the ways to achieve sustainable development and care for the environment.

The updating of technology using renewable sources for generation and recycling in all areas are other lines of work in Cuba to achieve sustainable development, he explained.

The World Economic Forum brings together 3,000 participants, including more than 60 Heads of State and Government, hundreds of ministerial-level authorities and leaders of the most influential companies in a score of industries, its organizers previously reviewed.

Under the slogan Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture In the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, attendees to the annual meeting will discuss the most pressing issues for global development.
