Maduro Urges Armed Forces to Strengthen Military Leadership

Caracas - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro urged the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) Wednesday to strengthen military leadership for the defense of peace, territorial integrity and the Constitution.
The Head of States, in response to the insistent aggressions instigated by the US authorities together with the local right, who aspire to establish a parallel government and thus justify foreign intervention, urged the military forces to assume the concepts of Bolivarian military doctrine.
The president participates in the activities prior to the Bicentennial military exercise of Angostura, to be held from February 10 to 15, from the Simon Bolivar Battalion in Tiuna Fort, Caracas, where more than 2,000 troops from Caracas' FANB are gathered.
Maduro assured the duty fulfilled will provide the military with maximum satisfaction. 'Venezuela is a land of rebels. Let's say no to cowards and mercenaries, and yes to the brave' , he said.
I call on the FANB for a great military renewal of the genuine precepts of Bolivarian and Chavista military doctrine, and thus apply it in every garrison, unit, soldier and guarantee that our territory will never be touched by the insolent US imperialist plant,' asserted the leader.
For his part, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino, specified that with the preparation actions of the units, 'freedom to the Homeland, to our principles and also our loyalty to the Revolution, the Constitution and the president are ratified. Weapons are ready to defend sovereignty.
The FANB's Strategic Operational Commander, Remigio Ceballo, also stated that at this moment the military forces have a long road of effort and dedication to demonstrate to external and internal enemies that Venezuela has a new strategic armed structure to face any intervention.
'We have had a constant and permanent struggle to guarantee peace, in union is our greatest strength and loyalty', stressed the military leader.
The Bicentennial of Angostura maneuvers will be held in honor of the 200 years of the Liberator Simon Bolívar's speech in that eastern region of the nation, aimed at ensuring the FANB's training and cohesion, as well as strengthening the territory's defensive capacity.
