Havana and Pittsburgh universities sign MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Universities of Havana and Pittsburgh were signed in this capital, as a continuation of the academic exchanges that both institutions already have.
Miriam Nicado, rector of the Cuban university, and Ariel C. Armony, vice-rector of Global Affairs of the U.S. Center for Higher Education, signed the document, according to the UH website.
Armony, accompanied by Juan Manfredi, professor of the Department of Mathematics at his university, was received at the UH by Nicado and other officials of the almost three-hundred year old Havana institution, meeting in which the rector expressed her appreciation for the visit of these outstanding academics and stressed that it is a good time to strengthen relations between the two universities.
Armony said he was interested in multidisciplinary work and in achieving greater regularity of exchanges. I would also like to express my gratitude for the professionalism of the specialists and educational directors of Cuba.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
