Bridgetown - The Barbadian National Defense Force announced Friday the organization of the 7th edition of a forum called Defense IQ, which will take place in this capital from March 26 to 28.

The event includes the development of the Maritime Security and Coastal Surveillance Summit of the Caribbean Basin (CABSEC 19) and the South American Security Summit (SAMSEC19).

According to the official website of the event, the main topics of the conference will be regional and hemispheric cooperation, the exchange of information, the safeguarding of the maritime domain for economic purposes.

The participants to the event will pay special attention to initiatives to fight terrorism, coordination for humanitarian assistance in cases of disaster, and the protection of national exclusive economic zones.

Defense IQ is an annual forum that brings together industry leaders in the Caribbean and South America to discuss strategies that strengthen security and defense against criminal networks organized by transnational corporations.

The forum has a solid track record in promoting regional and hemispheric security cooperation with the participation of working groups located in the Central, Southern and Caribbean Americas.
