Artemisa will host the national act for the World Environment Day
Artemisa, Cuba - In recognition of the results in the implementation of the environmental strategy, the province of Artemisa will host in June 5, the national activities for the World Environment Day.
Marta María Fleitas, Provincial Director of Science, Technology and Environment, stated among the main results that justify the designation, the increase of the forest areas and the decrease of the processes of desertification.
Produce without harming the environment
Food production is a vital requirement for the sustainability of humanity, despite the efforts of achieving this goal is essential to proper land use, crop rotation and control of pests and diseases.

Raul Castro holds talks with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic
Havana, Cuba - Cuban President Raul Castro on Tuesday officially received Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, who is paying an official visit to Cuba.

Artemisa, Cuba – From June 1st to 3 the province of Artemisa will host the Regional Workshop of Exchange of Experiences on Community projects, which will be held in campsite base La Caridad in the municipality of Candelaria.
Organized by the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) are going to participate also delegations from the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Mayabeque, Matanzas and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud.
Machado Ventura Applauds Strengthening of Cuban Farmers’ Organization
Havana - José Ramón Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers claimed on Sunday that the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) is today stronger than ever before.
Speaking to delegates at the closing of the 11th Congress of the peasant organization -founded 56 years ago by the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro- Machado Ventura said that ANAP gains momentum at present when Cuba is engaged in updating its economic model.
