Our agriculture is committed to the introduction of agro-ecological practices aimed at reducing the use of pesticides and fertilizers as well as referred to in the Plant Protection Program as to the substance or mixture of substances intended to prevent the action of insects, mites, rodents, fungi, weeds, bacteria or other forms of animal or plant life harmful to public health and agriculture.

Raul Castro: Trend towards Economic Slowing Down Reverted

Army General Raul Castro, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and President of the councils of State and Ministers, asserted that the trend towards the slowing down of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), shown in recent years, has been reverted in the country.

In closing the 5th Ordinary Period of Sessions of the 8th Legislature, Raul confirmed that until June 30, GDP grew 4.7 percent and it is estimated that by the end of this year it will be around that figure.

Cuba''s Communist Party to Hold Seventh Congress in 2016

Havana, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Communist Party will hold its Seventh Congress on April 16, 2016, a foundation date of the organization and the 55th anniversary of the Declaration of the Socialist Nature of the Revolution, Granma newspaper reported.
The event will assess the implementation of the agreements of the Fourth Congress and the First National Conference of the Party, specify the way to continue improving the Cuban economic and social model, and elect the members of the Central Committee, the daily added.

Raul Castro Attends Plenary Session of Cuban Parliament

Havana - Cuban President Raul Castro is attending the plenary session of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Cuban Parliament), which opened following three days of intense debates by the parliament’s ten permanent commissions on important issues of Cuban reality.

The Parliament session opened at 10:00 hours Wednesday to analyze an agenda that includes a report on the implementation of the state budget for 2014 and the economic plan for the first half of 2015.

Guests to the session include the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters that were imprisoned for years in US jails: Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino and René González.

The lawmakers are also analyzing the opinions of the people in their community meetings with people’s power representatives.
