Fidel Castro Meets with Outstanding Workers

Havana- The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, met on Thursday with officers and civil workers of the Ministry of the Interior and the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR).
Fidel Castro presented them with diplomas acknowledging their work in food production, according to a press release published here.
In an animated dialogue with the participants, the historic leader referred to the rapid growth of the world's population, amid climate change, the crisis due to water shortage and international conflicts that lead to an increase in prices.

Are preparing in Artemisa the international event on Agro-ecology, Sustainable Agriculture and Cooperatives
Artemisa, Cuba - The province of Artemisa is ready to host the 22 to 27 November this year in our country, the 5th International Event of Agro-ecology, Sustainable Agriculture and Cooperativism.
The comprehensive center of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) Niceto Pérez located in the town of Güira de Melena will host the important event, active every two years.
Event of traditional peasant games in Artemisa
Artemisa, Cuba - The Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA) Néstor P. Milián located in the community Zaporte in the municipality of Artemisa, will host the provincial event of traditional peasant games which are going to take place next Saturday 11of July.
Culinary event, horses´ races, greasy pole, championship of fishing and dominoes, chess games, competitions singing traditional music and also dancing it will be some of the activities that are going to take place simultaneously in various parts of the CPA with judges who will award the best competitors.
In Artemisa University 2016
Artemisa, Cuba - More than a hundred works from the four faculties of the central University of Artemisa, its 11 municipal university centers and other educational institutions of higher learning, formed the provincial event University 2016, held at the house of higher studies of La Villa Roja.
Under the principle “Innovative university for a sustainable human development”, the event hosted several courses at its first session and were presented presentations on environment, food security and sovereignty, vocational training, among other things, explained Inocente Robeisys Torres, Sciences Doctor, who is permanent professor and head of the Department of Postgraduate Courses, Science and Technological Innovation.
Actions to protect soils
The use, conservation and management of agricultural land are crucial factors to achieving growth performance. The degradation, declared as the main problem of the nation, is high on the agenda of the delegation of Science, Technology and Environment in San Antonio de los Baños.
