San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba - In order to raise the people´s life quality the Public Health Sector takes various actions.

The head of the program of noncommunicable chronic diseases in this town, Norberto Beltrán Morales said the leading cause of death in young people in the municipality is cancer caused by smoking. That is why drive impact on this problem.

Among the developed activities are educational talks in clinics and communities which highlight the negative consequences of consumption of cigars.

Raul Castro congratulates Greek Premier after referendum

Havana, Cuba -  Cuban President Raul Castro sent a message of congratulations to Greece´s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras after his victory at a referendum held July 5 in that European nation.

The Greek people voted NO with over 61 percent against a proposal by international creditors.

The referendum gave the Tsipras government large support and legitimacy to keep on  negotiations with European institutions and the International Monetary Fund.

Fidel Castro congratulates Greek Premier after referendum

The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro sent a message of congratulations to Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras for his victory at the referendum held in the European nation.

In his message Fidel Castro says that Greece is a very familiar nation to the Cuban people, who learned from that country subjects such as Philosophy, Arts and Ancient Sciences during school years and with those, the most complex of all human activities, which is arts and the science of politics.

Science and Technology Forum at Ariguanabo

Artemisa, Cuba.- The Base Business Unit Ariguanabo Apparel recently made its Science and Technology Forum, which has the mission to seek practical solutions to solve everyday problems of the country.

About 30 work presented the Innovation Brigade (BIR) distributed in 14 Committees for Innovation (CIR), Bejucal, Guira, La Salud, Quivicán, San Felipe, Cabañas, Artemisa, Guanajay and San Antonio de los Banos.

Graduated in Artemisa leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba inside the MININT

Artemisa, Cuba - The Brigadier General Rafael Calderín Tamayo, head of the headquarters of guarantee of the supplies and services of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) and Colonel Aldo Valdés Quijano Chief of the MININT in the province of Artemisa, presided over the graduation course "Communist Party leader of Cuba within the Ministry of the Interior ", held at the Mausoleum to the Martyrs of Artemisa.

In the framework of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Cuba in the MININT and the 120th anniversary of the death in combat of our national hero José Martí graduated these men and women who will continue the work of those who once were founders and protagonists of this union.

Fidel Castro Visits Food Research Center in Havana

Havana - The leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro visited the Food Industry Research Institute in the town of Guatao, where he exchanged experiences with 19 cheese masters who are trained in the facility.

Granma newspaper reports today that the meeting -held on Friday afternoon for more than four hours- was tempered by the arguments of Fidel Castro about the problems that affect the nutrition status of the world's population, such as climate change and frequent wars.
