On a day like today, 54 years after our victory in in Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs), the Cuban people will exercise the sovereign right to choose, at the grass root level, the public servants in our country, as the Constitution of our Republic establishes.

For nearly 560,000 people in Camaguey summoned to go to the polls on April 19, this day will be a genuine expression of our participatory democracy, foreign to proselytist campaigns and tactics designed to manipulate the public opinion, that have nothing to do with our reality.
