Cuba Recognizes Exclusion from US. List on Terrorism

Havana - Cuban Foreign Ministry acknowledged the decision of the US government to exclude the island from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

In a statement of the General Director of US Foreign Ministry, Josefina Vidal, the action of US President Barack Obama on this issue was reported last night.

Raul Castro back home after fruitful days at Summit of the Americas

Havana, Cuba - Cuban President Raul Castro returned to the island on Sunday afternoon after a fruitful participation at the 7th Summit of the Americas, held in Panama.

The Cuban head of state was welcomed by first vice-president Miguel Diaz-Canel and by Interior Minister Abelardo Colome, both members of the Political Bureau of Cuba´s Communist Party.

Cuban Revolution Leader Fidel Castro Meets with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro

Caracas - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Monday that after participating in the Summit of the Americas in Panama, he traveled to Cuba, where he met Cuban revolutionary leader, Fidel Castro.

Venezuela President, Nicolás Maduro, spoke on Monday in Caracas about his meeting with the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, after participating in the Seventh Summit of the Americas, held in Panama.

Raul Castro and Barack Obama hold first presidential meeting in 50 years (+Video)

Panama City -Cuban President Raul Castro held talks on Satuday with his US counterpart, Barack Obama, in the first time the two nations' leaders have sat down for substantive discussions in more than 50 years.

"This is obviously an historic meeting," Obama said at the beginning of his session with the Cuban head of state, held on the sidelines of the Summit of the Americas.

"It was time for us to try something new," he said. ‎"We are now in a position to move on a path toward the future."

Sports Facilities Improve

The fitting out of the running track and jump boxes as well as football and handball sports fields at Julio Diaz sports school , are among the actions aimed at improving sports facilities in Artemisa, said Joan Molina, director of Sports in the Provincial Administration.

In 2015 we expect to recover gyms for fencing, weightlifting, volleyball and two bathrooms in the multipurpose area in the sport school. The constructive state of the pools was assessed, and continues the recovery of baseball fields and beach volleyball, Molina said.
