An urgent call: save water

The sustainability of planet´s life depends on the rational use of water. Maybe you may value the importance of this resource, but it seems far away and it's not your responsibility in savings behavior.

The magnitude of the demand of this precious liquid does not escape any activity, so let´s think: we refer to humans, plants and animals. In our homes is vital for maintaining personal hygiene, cooking food, cleaning and what about the sustainability of crops in each farming for food production, irrigation is a vital activity, especially as we face the drought period. In the animal kingdom many species of this resource require to survive.

Multidisciplinary Care at Maternal Home

San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- Within the Maternal and Child Program the Maternal Home get pregnant with special needs for monitoring, control and modification of risk factors. This area provides care for 13 pregnant women, the institution is maintained at full capacity.

Cuba and the U.S.A. to Speak on Tuesday about Human Rights

Havana, Cuba - Representatives of Cuba and the United States will sit today in Washington D.C. to talk for the first time about human rights, an issue on which they have assured have profound differences.

Speaking to the press, Anayansi Rodriguez, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations agencies in Geneva said in the U.S. capital that despite the differences between the two governments on the issue of political systems, democracy, human rights, of respect for international law, they expect to hold a dialogue away from any conditioning and interference in internal affairs.

Cuban Workers Confederation Calls May Day Celebrations

Havana, Cuba - The call for a series of activities to mark May Day is taking place in Cuban labor centers, including state-owned companies, cooperatives and private entities to learn workers know about the agenda for celebrations May 1-5 throughout the island.

April will be marked by parades in squares as workers will discuss and adopt actions to guarantee the economic and financial performance of their labor centers.

Continental Meeting on Solidarity with Cuba Being Prepared

The movement of Solidarity with Cuba is preparing for a continental event which will strengthen it, informed today Kenia Serrano, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP).
In an interview with Prensa Latina, Serrano confirmed to have met here with Alfonso Ulloa, president of the Dominican Campaign of Solidarity with Cuba and Milagros Rivera, of the Solidarity Movement with Puerto Rico.
