Cooperative from Artemisa maintains it status of "more comprehensive of the country"

Artemisa, Cuba -The Cooperative of Credits and Services (CCS) Flores Betancourt of the province of Artemisa maintains for its diversification and performance the status of more comprehensive CCS in the country since 2014.

Located in the capital municipality of the province this cooperative that has more than 1600 hectares is dedicated to the production of sugarcane for the national balance, besides of being diversified in the production of pork, milk for the industry, viands and vegetables aimed to supply the demand of the population of the territory.

Climate change is everyone's responsibility

San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba - Confronting climate change in the territory satisfies the joint action plan in coordination with all community factors.

Raiza Garriga, Head of Section of the Science, Technology and Environment Ministry (CITMA) in the local government body, said that the environmental education, the individual and collective responsibility is the ultimate challenge for compliance with environmental and health regulations.

Beekeeping Gets Stronger in Artemisa Province

Artemisa province’s foundation led to several changes in the economic field. New companies were created, others merged and the transformations continue alongside the implementation of the Guidelines for Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution.

Beekeeping Basic Unit Enterprise(UEB) began operations in 2011 and four years later, it shows a sustained development.

"We had three Basic Unit of Cooperative Production( UBPC), 23 private producers and less than 3000 hives with poor productive capacity. In the last quarter of that year we contributed the firsts 53.2 tons of honey, "said Rigoberto Velázquez, director of the company.

Zero mortality index at Ariguanabo Coronary room

San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba - The Coronary Room of the General Teaching Hospital Ivan Portuondo of this town, ended this quarter with zero mortality rate.

Now a multipurpose room, the antechamber presents 5.1 of mortality below the average, according to the specialist in cardiology Rogelio Pérez Collado, Master in Intensive Care and Head of the Department.

Stars on Earth

Although we can only watch constellations from Earth , two singular stars have stayed in our territory to be seen only from above. Los Pinos community in San Cristobal township , is the only urban structure in the country which resembles the shape of stars, and was built more than 50 years ago .

Its construction started in 1960 by architects Juan Pérez Moreno and Fernando Martínez, who presented to the National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INRA) this innovative design that would host farmers dislodged before the revolutionary triumph.
