Tehran - Government and journalistic associations in Iran agreed today to praise the good level of cooperation and the strong relations with Cuba, after profusely reviewing the official visit of Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, to the island.

Luanda - The Cuban delegation invited to the VII ordinary Congress of the ruling MPLA, which closes its curtains today, paid tribute to the First president of Angola, Agostinho Neto, by visiting his memorial, in this capital.

Pretoria, August 22 (RHC)-- South Africa's Deputy Minister of Energy, Thembisile "Thembi" Majola, said Cuba stands as the world's highest expression of internationalism.

Speaking from Pretoria, in an interview with Prensa Latina news agency, the South African official said that thousands of doctors, nurses, teachers and professionals from Africa and elsewhere have studied in Cuba.  Majola said she also was a student in Cuba during the 1980's, before returning to South Africa.

A member of the South African Parliament for the African National Congress (ANC), Thembi was born in Soweto, an urban area of Johannesburg that was bastion in the fight against the apartheid regime.  During the racist apartheid government in her country, she studied for several years in Cuba, along with other students from dozens of countries around the world.

Thembi said that she is "the result of cooperation between Cuba and the ANC," traveling to Tanzania and Angola after finishing her studies in Cuba.  The current South African deputy minister of energy said she returned to her country after Nelson Mandela was released from prison in 1990.

Tehran - Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, will arrive in Cuba on Sunday, Aug. 21, on the first stopover of a tour of Latin America which gives particular importance in the political and economic sphere, diplomatic sources today confirmed.

Havana - German State Secretary for the Environment, Jochen Flasbarth, begins today a visit to Cuba, where he will meet with several officials and tour heritage sites, the embassy of that European nation reported here.

Memories and emotions regarding the creation of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and the work undertaken by its founders – without forgetting the most important moments of an organization which in a few days will celebrate its 56th anniversary – were shared during an afternoon gathering of members on August 16, in the FMC’s national headquarters.
