Salvador Valdes Mesa, member of the Politbureau of Cuba´s Communist Party is paying a visit to Viet Nam aimed at further strengthening bilateral friendly and cooperation relations.

AS agreements are made to be fulfilled and not to be shelved, today one of the decisions of the recent 7th Party Congress – which was outlined on the very first day in the Central Report – is already being put into practice: “In order to enrich and perfect these documents we propose that both, that is to say, the conceptualization and fundamentals of the National Development Plan, after being reviewed by the Congress, be submitted to a process of democratic discussions by members of the Party and Young Communist League, representatives of mass organizations and broad sectors of Cuban society.”

Havana - The 35th Pan-American Congress of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (ORL-HNS) concludes its activities in Havana today with a meeting between the American Academy of ORL-HNS and its Latin American counterparts.

Cuba has performed 360 cochlear implant surgeries, the majority on children, all with positive results. Of these, a total of 30 patients are deafblind, Dr. Antonio Paz Cordovéz explained, a pioneer in this type of surgery on the island.
