Havana - Venezuela became the first country to send humanitarian aid to Cuba this Tuesday, September 12, following the impact of Hurricane Irma on the island over 72 hours.

Havana -The National Chiefs of Staff of Civil Defense of Cuba reported on the death of 10 people due to the impact of Hurricane Irma after its passage through the Caribbean island.

Beijing - Relations between China and Cuba are at an excellent time, they share a historical basis and are not due to ephemeral circumstances, said the deputy Foreign Minister of the island, Marcelino Medina.

Havana - Hurricane Irma briefly strengthened to a Category 5, slamming Cuba's coast late Friday night.  It now continues its path as a Category 4 with sustained winds of 155 miles per hour, lashing evacuated coastal regions in Cuba and causing damages.

Havana - Following the devastating hurricane Irma for Cuba, the Caribbean nation today has the solidarity and support of several countries, as well as their willingness to send aid.

On the afternoon of September 7, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first vice president of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, Hugo Martínez Bonilla, on an official visit to the island.
