Parachutists from Four Countries to Compete in Cuba
Varadero, Cuba - Athletes from Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Peru and the United States will compete here from August 12 to 15 in the 2nd Friendship Cup of Parachuting, in the category of accuracy landing.
Omar Gomez, head of the organizing committee, reported Prensa Latina that 45 parachutters of both sexes will attend the competition and the struggle will focus on the Brazilian and Cuban representations, with three teams each.

Matanzas, Cuba - Outstanding Cuban cyclist Lisandra Guerra confirmed here her attending the Pan American track cycling championship, scheduled for Santiago de Chile on Sep. 1-6.
Guerra told Prensa Latina that besides this competition, she will take part in the Cali World Cup, in November, in Colombia, as part of qualifiers for the Olympic Games of Brazil in 2016.
Last group of Cuban athletes return from Toronto
Havana, Cuba - Jose Ramon Fernandez, president of the Cuban Olympic Committee (COC), welcomed on Monday the last batch of athletes from the island, participants in the 17th Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
In a ceremony at Jose Marti International Airport, in Havana, Fernandez transmitted to the athletes the gratitude of the Cuban people for the successes achieved in the great continental contest of the Canadian city.

Havana, Cuba - The Cuban delegation won on Saturday five gold medals, four silver medals and one bronze medal, to close its performance in the 17th Pan-American Games in Toronto, Canada.
Boxing led Cuba's harvest with the gold medals obtained by Lazaro Alvarez, in the 60 kilogram division, Julio Cesar La Cruz (81 kilos) and Lenier Pero (+91), while Yosbany Veitia (52) and Roniel Iglesias (69) lost their respective fights for the title.
