Cuban Baseball Championship to Restart Today

Havana - Cuban national baseball is coming back to the playgrounds, when the 44th National Championship is restarted, after stopping because of the celebration of the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico.

Since November 3, the Cuban Baseball Championship made a pause, to facilitate the training and participation of the national team in the Central American Games, a process that concluded with the first place of the Cuban team in the Games, at the Beto Avila Stadium.

Cuban Richer Pérez Wins Marathon in Veracruz Games-2014

Xalapa, Nov 30 Cuban male athlete Richer Pérez conquered today the marathon of the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games of Veracruz with his country leading with 121 gold medals.
Perez, 28 and cahmpion in the half-marathon of Havana this year, covered the 42 km, 195 mt in 2:19.13 hours, his best time ever in this specialty,, leaving behind Guatemalan Jose Garcia (2:19.45) and Mexican Daniel de Jesus Vargas (2:20.27).

New Batch of Cuban Athletes Role in Veracruz Games Highlighted

Havana - Cuban First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel, stressed that the triumph of Cuba in the Central American and Caribbean Games shows there is a new batch of athletes ready to give new victories to their homeland.

According to Granma newspaper, Díaz-Canel spoke before the last group of Cuban athletes who returned from Veracruz, in a simple ceremony presided over by Cuban President Raul Castro, who went to José Martí International Airport in the capital, to welcome the group.

Cuba Climbs to the Top in CAC Games

Havana, Cuba - Cuba appeared today on top of the standings in the 22 nd Central American and Caribbean Games, held in Veracruz, Mexico by accumulating 77 titles, one ahead of Mexico.

The Cuban delegation (77-44-45) won yester day six gold, two silver and three bronze medals, totaling thus 166 medals; while Mexico (76-61-81) fell to second place.

Cuba Wins CAC Games

Havana, Cuba - With a harvest of 123 gold, 66 silver and 65 bronze medals, Cuba concluded on top of the standings of the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games Veracruz 2014.

Yesterday, the Cuban delegation ended its participation in this competition with three titles, two in beach volleyball and one in the marathon event, plus two silver and one bronze medals, for a total of 254.

Cuba to Catch Mexico Today in CAC Games

Havana, Cuba - Cuban athletes will have today several medals options in the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games, where Mexicans lead the standings by just one more gold medal than Cuba.

The Cuban presence will be wider in the athletics, with finals scheduled in women's long jump, men’s shot put, men’s 800 meters, women’s 100 meters, along with the conclusion of men's decathlon.
