Cuban Films Competing in 37th Havana Film Festival Announced

Havana - The nine Cuban feature-films competing in the 37th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema were announced yesterday here by Roberto Smith de Castro, head of the Cuban film institute.
Smith, president of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), said that out of the nine films, four were produced by this institution, while the remaining five are independent films.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
