Costa Gavras to Give a Keynote Speech in Cuba

Havana - Awarded French-Greek filmmaker Costa Gavras will give a keynote speech today in Cuba to students of the International Cinema School in San Antonio de los Baños.
Invited by the organizers to the 18th French Cinema Festival in this island, Gavras traveled for fifth time to Cuba to share experiences and screen his most recent film "Capital."
The City Biennial as Seen by the Youth

The Havana Art Biennial has consistently defended transforming daily live into motifs for the artistic creation; an intention that has evolved to become a method of work. The twelfth edition of the biennial, to be held from May 22 to June 22, strongly ratifies this.
For an entire month, Havana will become a dynamic and living place to think on and live the art. Under the curatorial idea “Between Art and Experience,” multiple proposals and ideas invite feeling “the city and its people.” One of them is from painter and video maker Chemi Rosado, who has dedicated an important part of his work to community initiatives and public interventions.
International Young Artists Participate in Cuba´s Romerias De Mayo

Holguin - The 12th edition of the Romerias de Mayo festivities starts today in Holguin, with the goal to found the Artistic Youth World Festival and the presence of 26 countries from America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia.
Musicians, artists, researchers, dancers, writers, painters and cultural promoters visit The City of Parks, 770 km from Havana, to attend the traditional celebrations.
Argentina Will Host Forum on Jose Marti Thoughts

Buenos Aires - Argentina will host from May 4 thru 6 a meeting of the Project Jose Marti of International Solidarity destined to keep promoting the social and political Latin American and Caribbean thinking of the Cuban national hero.
In statements to Prensa Latina, doctor Hector Hernandez Pardo said this forum was conceived to incentivate the study of Marti works, to help understand the roots of the present revolutionary and progressive processes going on in Our America.
French Cinema Festival in Cuba Screens Luxury Works

Havana - A screening of the best French films of the last two years burns onto Cuban movies as of today with the beginning of the 18th French Cinema Festival, an event with a lot of followers in the island.
The movie "Timbuktu," winner of the highest award of French film, the 2014 Cesar Award, will be the gift of the opening gala tonight at the Havana's Chaplin Movies.
Children´s Theater Company La Colmenita Honored in Cuba

Havana - The famous Cuban children''s theater company La Colmenita received the highest honors in four cities where they performed in their recent national tour.
Sources of the group, created and directed by Carlos Cremata, today confirmed new awards received by a group that has performed at various stages in the world.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
