Ediciones Unión de Cuba to Present 17 Works in Havana´s Book Fair

Havana- Ediciones Unión, the publishing house of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), will present 17 titles of national and foreign authors at the 26th edition of the International Book Fair, the entity announced today.
The president of the publishing house, Olga Marta Pérez, revealed the titles of the works at a press conference, including Desde el Invierno (From the Winter), an anthology of 23 Canadian stories prepared by the outstanding writer Margaret Atwood, who will attend the presentation of the work next February 10.
Considered the largest literary festival in Cuba, the International Book Fair, to be held in this capital from February 9 to 19 with the participation of representatives from more than 35 countries, this year will have Canada as a guest country of honor.
Atwood, a prolific poet, novelist, teacher and political activist, holds numerous international laurels, including the Prince of Asturias Award for Letters (2008), and has been nominated for a Nobel Prize in Literature.
The anthology compiles texts by Mavis Gallant, Alice Munro, Rudy Weibe, Carol Shields, Graeme Gibson and Atwood herself, among others.
