Today is the birthday of this humble artist, worthy of great awards. These include ´´Nicolas Guillen Distinction´´ for National Culture.

Beijing - The book "Fidel Castro: Guerrilla of the Time 'was launched here today by its author, the Cuban writer and journalist Katiuska Blanco, this time in a Mandarin edition.

Havana - The 16th Havana Theater Festival will be dedicated to famous British theater director Peter Brook and the 30th anniversary of Teatro Buendia, said members of the Organizer Committee today.

Noel Bonilla Chongo, director of Development of the international festival, which will be held from October 22nd to 31st in Havana and six other provinces of Cuba, said that there will be participants from 22 countries and 37 foreign plays will be staged, as well as 13 Cuban and two joint plays.

Legendary Cuban musical group Buena Vista Social Club will play at a White House reception next Thursday in honor of Hispanic heritage month, a US official announced.

Government sources announced that “Buena Vista Social Club is the first Cuba-based band that will perform at the White House for the first time in over 50 years”.
