Malabo-The Government in Equatorial Guinea reiterated its support to ending the economic, trade and financial blockade of Cuba by the United States, a stance that continues to have an increasing support by the international community.
Cuban 5 Attend Freedom Charter Celebrations in South Africa

Johannesburg - The five Cubans who were imprisoned in the USA for fighting terrorism attend today an official ceremony on occasion of the 60th anniversary of the proclamation in South Africa of the Freedom Charter, a significant date in the country.
Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez arrived in this South African land on June 21, invited by the ruling African National Congress, to attend the celebrations for the anniversary.

Tribute to Carlos J. Finlay for centenary of his death

A representation of the national scientific community will pay tribute on Friday to the Cuban scientist Carlos Finlay Barres (1833-1915), who discovered that the female Aedes aegypti mosquito was the transmitter of yellow fever.
Cuban professionals march on pilgrimage to the tomb of Finlay on Colon necropolis and deposited a wreath in memory of the man who drew up a plan as anti-vector only solution to eradicate the disease in the nineteenth century.
