Havana - Cuba has been declared this week the only country in the world to achieve sustainable development, according to a report that the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) publishes every two year.

For his outstanding work in favor of the strengthening of relations between Cuba and France, Jean Pierre Bel, special envoy of the President of that European nation for Latin America and the Caribbean, was presented on Tuesday with the Friendship Medal.

Cuban government vice-president and Economy minister Ricardo Cabrisas and visiting French State Secretary Matthias Fekl held talks Thursday in Havana and reaffirmed the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mexico - Mexico expects today that the economic, financial and commercial blockade on Cuba will soon be lifted, according to a statement from the Secretary of Foreign Affairs (SRE).

Santa Clara - With a combative march through the city's streets, students from Santa Clara's vocational-professional high schools denounced the interventionist nature of President Obama's recent directive regarding U.S. policy toward Cuba.
