In line with information published on April 22 and May 3 and continuation of measures to gradually increase Cuban’s purchasing power, the following measures will be implemented beginning today, May 17, 2016:

Geneva - The existence of more than 15,000 nuclear weapons was denounced by Cuba at the UN Working Group in charge of the progress of multilateral negotiations on nuclear disarmament.

Havana - The draft Action Plan of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) for 2016-2018 is ready for examination in the Preparatory Meeting for the 7th Summit scheduled for Havana on June 4, the Cuban Foreign Ministry (Minrex) announced.

Havana - Significant foreign hotel chains point to Cuba, where tourism is increasing rapidly as it is shown in official reports and news media.

Havana - Cuban Minister Council Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas welcomed today Kane Boubacar, Mauritanian Health Minister and bearer of a message from President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz to Cuban President Raul Castro Ruz.

Cuba ended 2015 with an estimated population of 11,239,004 inhabitants, only 727 people more than last year, for a growth rate of 0.06 per 1,000, according to the National Statistics and Information Office's Center for Population and Development Studies, published on the website www.onei.cu.
