More Land to Produce Food

Fidel Lorente, head of Land Control in the Provincial Department of Agriculture, during the Provincial Bureau of the Party reported that other 202 hectares of land in usufruct will be delivered for food production through Legislative Decree 300 .

Twenty beneficial owners from Bahia Honda, six from Bauta and four from Candelaria must exploit these soils, most of them dedicated to produce several crops and fruits, although some will be use for cattle raising, Lorente said.

Over 300 Foreign Companies Interested in Cuban Zone Mariel

 Havana-Cuba has received more than 300 formal requests to settle in the Special Development Zone Mariel (ZEDM), it was reported today in an online business forum prior to the Summit of the Americas, to be held in Panama.
The online-real-time exchange with managers and Cuban officials focused on the topics to be addressed at the II Business Summit of the Americas, including food security and agribusiness, integration and financial inclusion, economic empowerment of women, energy, infrastructure, logistics and connectivity, innovation and information technology.

Cuba and the U.S.A. to Speak on Tuesday about Human Rights

Havana, Cuba - Representatives of Cuba and the United States will sit today in Washington D.C. to talk for the first time about human rights, an issue on which they have assured have profound differences.

Speaking to the press, Anayansi Rodriguez, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations agencies in Geneva said in the U.S. capital that despite the differences between the two governments on the issue of political systems, democracy, human rights, of respect for international law, they expect to hold a dialogue away from any conditioning and interference in internal affairs.

An San Antonio de los Baños, production unit for efficiency

Artemisa, Cuba.- The Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPCs) April 9th, develops the preparation of land for short-cycle crops such as squash, tomatoes and eggplant.

The resuscitation citrus project was delayed and 770 hectares are dedicated to citrus. The effectiveness will be to a long term until 2025, although a significant number keeps citrus production, thanks to the care of plantations and direct combat to pests and diseases.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company  celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
