Will be increased the local production of construction materials in Artemisa
Artemisa, Cuba -The Construction and Maintenance Company of Artemisa, this year will exceed the 3 millions of units of the Local Program of Production of Construction Materials, prioritizing the wall elements, roof and floors.
The 20 manufacturing centers in the province have the material resources to triple the production of concrete blocks, lattices, beams for roof and washtubs.
With the functioning of new 15 mills will be increased the obtaining of dust and sand from the mill of ground debris, in response to the growing demand of dry goods which have a shortfall in the quarries of the province.
Cuba and the United States to Second Round of Talks on February 27
Havana, Cuba - The US Department of State announced that the second round of talks between government representatives of Cuba and the United States to advance the process to reestablish diplomatic relations will take place February 27 in Washington D.C.
According to the announcement, the talks will be hosted by the Department of State and will be led by Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta Jacobson and the general director of the United States Office at the Cuban Foreign Ministry Josefina Vidal.
Runs at a good pace the potato harvest campaign in Güira de Melena
Artemisa, Cuba -The Strengthened Cooperative of Credit and Services “Ubaldo Díaz Fuentes” in the municipality of Güira de Melena in the province of Artemisa works to achieve the 6.7 hectares of potatoes planted this year, which represents 150 tones of the crop.
According to the information given by Yosvany Valderrama, specialist of the tuber in the Agricultural Company of the territory, in this cooperative they have one producer only dedicated to working with this crop (the potato), who has received all required inputs, according to the vegetative cycle of the crop, for which they used seeds from Europe.
US Senators Highlight Potential of Business Relations with Cuba
Havana, Cuba - US Senators Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, and Mark Warner of Virginia, stressed at a press conference in Havana city this morning the potential of trade relations between Cuba and the United States .

Havana, Cuba - Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez met on Tuesday evening with US democratic senators Claire McCaskill, from Missouri; Amy Klobuchar, from Minnesota and Mark Warner, from Virginia, who are visiting the island.
The meeting, which was also attended by the general director of the United States Office at the Cuban Foreign Ministry Josefina Vidal, focused on issues of bilateral interest, such as the process to reestablish diplomatic relations between Washington and Havana and the lifting of the US blockade of Cuba.
