Havana - The boxing team of Cuba, the Domadores (Tamers) gave an impressive display at the 6th edition of the World Series of Boxing Friday, by sweeping the Conquerors of Turkey by 5 victories to none.

The most important encounters between professional Cuban and Major League Baseball (MLB) players in the last 16 years boil down to a friendly match against the Baltimore Orioles in 1999 and games during the World Baseball Classics, where the island has faced national teams featuring several MLB players.

The Cuban Baseball Federation announced the shortlist for the match against the MLB team Tampa Bay Rays, agreed for March 22 at Havana's Latinoamericano Stadium.

Cuban Greco-Roman wrestlers won three berths to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, on the closing day of the continental qualifying tournament in the US city of Frisco.

As is almost always the case in baseball, nothing happens by chance, and true to form, four of the favorite teams predicted to reach the semifinals of the 55th National Series, have done so. Two rank as historic greats having won the tournament on numerous occasions: Industriales and the Vegueros from Pinar del Río.

Havana -  A total of 180 fencers confirmed its participation in the Grand Prix Villa de La Habana (Grand Prix Havana) of fencing, from March 11 to 13, announced Zuleidis Ortiz, national commissioner of this discipline.
