Book on Fidel Castro´s Speeches Launched in Havana
Havana, Cuba - The book entitled “Patria o Muerte, Venceremos!” (Homeland or Death, we shall overcome!) by Italian professor Paola Laura Gorla was launched at the University of Havana on Monday.
The work addresses the literary values of Fidel´s speeches, by considering a selection of them since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959.
Lázaro Saavedra Granted 2014 National Prize of Plastic Arts in Cuba

Havana, Cuba - The National Council for the Plastic Arts awarded the 2014 National Prize of Plastic Arts to the artist Lázaro Saavedra.
This is the highest honor granted in Cuba to creators of visual arts for the life working.
Saavedra (Havana 1964) studied from 1976 to 1979 in "October 20" Elementary School of Plastic Arts, and from 1979 to 1983 at San Alejandro Provincial School of Visual Arts.
Cuban President Greets Anniversary of National Symphony Orchestra

Havana - Cuba''s President Raul Castro stressed the work by the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) in the defense and promotion of culture, Granma newspaper reported today.
On occasion of the 55th anniversary of such musical group, the head of State considered the OSN foundation an early sign of the importance the new Revolution gave to culture.
Cuban culture in digital media

The V Day of Cuban culture in digital media will be held at the Cuba Pavilion, venue of the Hermanos Saiz Association, from November 11th to 14th, to foster discussion and exchange of experiences on the use of technology information and communication within cultural processes.
The program of the event, which will be held from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. at the Salon de Mayo, includes lectures, presentations and panels on the presence of Cuban culture in the digital world as well as the delivery of Palma Digital Award 2014 in different categories, recognizing the best websites and multimedia products of our cultural country.
Mexico-Cuba Cultural Link Goes through History, a Writer Says

Mexico - The writer and cultural counselor at the Cuban embassy in Mexico, Fidel Antonio Orta, stressed today here the ties between this nation and the island, with history as a point of reference.
The narrator, poet, essayist and diplomat gave a lecture about the island's culture at the headquarter of the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, in the Federal District.
