Silvio Rodriguez Opens Photo Exhibit in UNESCO

Paris - Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez opened a photo exhibit at UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris with snap shots of his free concerts in some of Havana´s humblest neighborhoods.
The 36 pictures, taken by Silvio Rodriguez himself, cover a period of seven years and they summarize the expectations and illusions of the residents, as they get ready to closely watch the singer’s performance, their warm welcome to the musicians and the assembling of the stages.

Havana - Cuba is a nation with a wealth of culture, stated the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Audrey Azoulay, at the inauguration of the 41st International Festival of New Latin American Cinema on Thursday, running through December 15 in this capital.
